Tibetan Bowls sound healing sessions with Karen Skidmore

A beautiful way to relax and de-stress from the day.

Simply lie down, close your eyes and let the sounds wash over your body.

It felt like I’d been wrapped in a blanket of sound. Gentle but powerful.

I utterly loved my time with Karen. I came out supremely relaxed and it felt like I’d been fitted back together properly once more

How do sound baths work?

Using sound to nourish and heal ourselves has existed for centuries. From ancient drumming to classical and modern music, we’ve been using the power of rhythm and vibration to shift energies in our bodies and feel alive.

Today, we are connected to phones, and our busy schedules run our lives. It’s easy to numb yourself as the weeks fly by as you tread life’s conveyor belt.

There has never been a more critical time to get out of your head and connect with your body; to feel sound vibrate through you, and experience stillness.

For some, sound can be an excellent way to relax and unwind after a busy day.

For others, sound can help you deeply connect with your body, giving you the power to unlock unseen patterns and embrace new pathways without having to articulate or explain.

What to expect at a sound bath

Our sessions are a safe place to leave the pressures of your day behind and relax.

For some, these sessions can be quite profound, shifting stuck energy. But for most people, it’s an opportunity to switch off distractions, close your eyes and slow your breath.

We start with a gentle check in and welcome, before beginning a short guided meditation to help you calm your mind and prepare you for the unique experience of each session.

There is nothing you need to do except to snuggle under the blanket and close your eyes.

You may stay awake during the session or fall asleep; either way your body will still receive the benefits of the sound session.

Once the session comes to an end, you will be gently roused and given time to stretch and wake up fully.

FAQs

If you don’t see your question answered below, get in touch with me at karen@serotina.co.uk

  • We usually have no more than 12 people in our group sound sessions.

  • We want you to be warm and cosy, so we have what you need to be to comfortable lying down; yoga mat, blankets and support for your knees.

However, you are welcome to bring extra blankets, duvet and pillows. Honestly … we have some people arrive in PJs, ready for bed. So bring extra comfort if you require it :)

  • Wear loose, comfortable clothing; leggings, joggers or even pyjamas :)

We also recommend removing any necklaces or bracelets, Apple watches, or other Bluetooth tracking devices and avoiding belts if possible.

  • After a warm welcome from Karen, we will start with a gentle meditation to relax you into the session, and then you'll hear me play my bowls.

We finish with a wake-up session before you leave.

You may be energised after the session, but usually you will feel relaxed and chilled. Please be gentle with yourself for the rest of your evening, drink water, avoid heavy machinery and look after yourself as if you've had a deep tissue massage.

  • We have a strict no-latecomers policy to avoid disturbing others once we have begun the initial mediation. This means that if you arrive after we've started, we unfortunately can't let you in the room.

  • You will be able to cancel your ticket within before 48 hours of the class, and all tickets are be non-refundable within 48 hours. However, if you are unable to attend the class for any reason you may email us at karen@serotina.co.uk to request a transfer of your ticket to either a future Event or a substitute to attend the Event on your behalf, however this can not be guaranteed and is always subject to availability.
